RDA profile

Welcome to the Regional Development Authority!

Who we are: In compliance with the Iowa Excursion Boat Gambling Act, the Regional Development Authority (RDA) is the non-profit license holder and Qualified Sponsoring Organization (QSO) for the Rhythm City Casino Resort in Davenport, IA. RDA receives funds from Rhythm City Casino’s gaming operation to use in making community grants. Eligible grant recipients include qualified nonprofits, as well as qualified educational and governmental entities. The RDA Board accepts grant applications in the spring and in the fall of each year. Instructions and due dates are found in the Granting Opportunities page.

Special Notice - Pandemic Update

The Regional Development Authority continues to monitor the pandemic situation and its impact on granting capacity. Because of the pandemic, Rhythm City Casino Resort remained closed for nearly three months. During that time, RDA received no new revenues to use for grant-making.

Normally, our grant application for the fall cycle would open in July for a November awards allocation. At this time, the RDA Board has decided to delay our open grants application. Depending on gaming revenue totals this summer and fall, the RDA Board will evaluate priorities for our next grant allocations. The Board will reevaluate and announce a plan by the end of August 2020, with a likely due date for Fall 2020 applications of September 30.

Q2030 icon RDA supports collaborative initiatives, like Q2030, that align resources to reach common community visions and support a more diverse and multicultural community.
